Hamburg
Some Impressions from the Dock
On August 14 we had a barbecue at our rowing club. I had my new Joby Gorillapod with me and just had to practice with it.
Ships and Hamburg Harbor
We had a Sunday trip to Hamburgs’s museum ships and a round trip by ferry in the harbor. There were the Vattenfall Cyclassics happening in parallel. So, the ships were less crowded than one would expect on a Sunday.

Photo Walk, July 12, 2009
I had the Sunday morning for myself and took the opportunity to go on a photo walk. The tour took me through Hammer Park and along Eilbek canal. To finish I took some really nice pictures of bumblebees in Jacobi Park.

Rowing Sunset
I took my D5000 to the rowing club for a photo occasion. The result were some sunny pictures.
Hafengeburtstag 2009
Last Sunday was the final day of this year’s Hafengeburtstag(harbor’s birthday) in Hamburg. I had the morning free and took my D5000 out for a photo walk. Hamburgs Landungsbrücken tend to get very crowded on these occasions. Thus I went there quite early. I also took the old tunnel under the Elbe to get the view from the South side. Here are the best photos:

D5000 arrived – Photo Walk
Yesterday my D5000 was delivered. It was delivered by DHL. A neighbor took the delivery as I was not at home at the time. But, I only knew that the package had arrived from the tracking page of the shop. No notice by DHL to be found in the mailbox.
Anyway. Today after work I had to do a first photo walk with the new camera. The day started rainy, but by the end of work day sun was shining as requested. Here are some photos from the walk.

A Late Lion for Birthday
Me and my girlfriend had our birthdays back in October. We got tickets for Disney’s “Lion King” – or “König der Löwen” in German – as presents. We had to wait until last Tuesday as it was the date to use the tickets. The musical is performed at the Theater im Hafen.
We started with a decent dinner, nothing too extraordinary though. The performance itself was like you would expect from a Disney product. Easy to consume, but worthwhile. I liked the costumes especially. They where not only costumes, but puppets, too.
