Tim Bray about OOXML (ISO/IEC 29500 versus ECMA-376)
My colleague at Sun Tim Bray has written a quite interesting blog about the new standard ISO/IEC 29500 and compares it to the standard ECMA-376. The latter is implemented by Word 2007. Tim points out the question which standard a developer should implement. His answer is clear: If you want your implementation to be accepted by the public, follow the standard follow by the broadest implementation base. That will be ECMA-376.
